Driven West Gallery is located in historic Virginia City, Montana at 306 West Wallace St., on the main drag across from the Fairweather Inn. The gallery is comprised of my own fine art photography as well as paintings by Montana artists Mimi Matsuda (www.mimimatsudaart.com), and Sarah Morris (www.thegirlwhopaints.com). The gallery includes a range of work ideal for both the discerning art collector and the traveler seeking a truly special memento. The gallery is open May through September. If visiting in May or September you're encouraged to call ahead of time as these are months when I also spend a considerable amount of time in the field.
The building was originally built in 1863 and was reconstructed in the 1940s. In the 1800s it served as an office for the Wells Fargo Express stagecoach line. During the gold boom this was a hub for folks venturing to the likes of Virginia City and Bannack, seeking to better their condition and make a fortune. Through the years it has served as a restaurant, post office, and now a unique art gallery showcasing original and distinctive works which capture the spirit of Montana and the greater Yellowstone area.
